Pigtrulls

Pigtrulls are some of the most dangerous and odious monster men in all of Alaria. The average member of this Lesser Race stands at least Seven feet tall with the mix of fat and muscles covering their bodies leaving them looking even larger. Their huge bellies especially add to their presence, making them not just more intimidating to most races’ eyes but physically repulsive as well.

Visually it is a Pigtrull’s face that the members of most Greater races find most disturbing. A “kind” description would be that their unpleasant visage looks like a pig’s head was attached to an Ogre’s body.

Brutish creatures, a Pigtrull’s life revolves around short bouts of violence to attain things they do have not the patience or intelligence to create or earn in other ways. Their immense strength combined with their unnatural toughness means taking is often an easy thing for them, further solidifying their worst racial impulses.

It is widely believed Pigtrulls are one of Alaria’s many magically created races. Their unnatural physical toughness is the first proof put forward by most that Pigtrulls origins are magical. Their hides are thick, yet magic is the only way to explain just how tough they are. Normal blades, no matter how sharp or well crafted, can rarely penetrate their hide. If one wishes to harm Pigtrull magical weapons will be required.

The second proof Pigtrulls are a magically created race lies in how they breed. There are only male Pigtrulls so they require the women of other races to breed. Any woman, regardless of race, who is impregnated by one of these monster men will birth a full-blooded Pigtrull.

Few women are depraved enough to willing do this so Pigtrulls often make slaves of females unlucky enough to encounter a group of Pigtrulls. But even that does not ensure the birth of more Pigtrulls. It cannot be stressed enough that these creatures are cruel, brutish, and evil. There is no tenderness or kindness when they mate, only uncaring or often intentional roughness. Many women cannot survive the carnal affections of these monster men for long, especially since captive women are considered community property by Pigtrulls and thus will rarely get a respite from the dark fate awaiting them while captured.

Pigtrulls normally group themselves in small bands, ranging anywhere from only a handful to about thirty. Any more than that is rare as Pigtrulls gathered in too large numbers will begin fighting and end up killing one another till a smaller community number is reached.

These small communities usually live as bandits, praying on those who come too close to the “camps” they make out of pillaged carriages and goods taken from traveling merchants. As Pigtrulls are generally as sloven as they are violent these camps will frequently be abandoned due to their growing unpleasantness. Pigtrulls also make a habit of periodically moving their camps before any authority strong enough to deal with them takes note of their banditry.

Some argue that the odious Pigtrulls should be categorized not as monsters but as members of a Greater Race. These rare few base this categorization almost entirely on Pigtrulls’ intelligence. While Pigtrulls ARE intelligent, the leaders of their small communities are often at least as intelligent as the average Human, their brutish nature, violent impatience, and impulse to live as lazily as possible ensure they remain easily categorized as “monsters”.
